It is home to 13 institutions of higher learning and secondary vocational schools, and private technicians (technicians) schools, including Guangdong University of Technology, Hua Li College, Guangzhou University Songtian College, Huashang College of Guangdong University of Finance & Economics. Within 40-minute car ride, there are 60 universities and scientific research institutions, with graduate students of about 50,000, and university students of about 680,000, secondary vocational students of about 240,000. The district has strong scientific research ability and rich talent resources.
Guangzhou Science and Education City, and the senior technicians educational demonstration base of Guangdong Province, have begun their construction, to accommodate more than 30 higher vocational education institutions and universities.
