General Overview
Guangzhou, as one of China's historical and cultural cities, the country's important central city, international trade center and integrated transport hub, located in the south of Guang-dong province, the northern edge of the Pearl River Delta,bordering the South China Sea, adjacent to Hong Kong,Macao, is China's South Gate to the world. Zengcheng is located in eastern Guangzhou. Founded as a county since the 6th year of jian'an era in the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D.201), it has a history of over 1800 years. It has been an important commercial city in south Guangdong since ancient time. The district has an administrative area of 1616 square kilometers, with the resident population of about 1.48 million. It has 7 towns and 4 streets. Zengcheng actively integrates into Guangzhou's development pattern,for the construction of a modern medium-scale ecological city with the comprehensive service function, concentrated new production factors, suitable population size, rich Lingnan characteristics, beautiful ecological environment, livable and suitable industry environment.
Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone is national development zones. It is located in the southern part of the city. Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone has a planned area of 70 square kilometers, with the core area of 26 square kilometers.
