Announcement on Delimiting Prohibited Mining Area of River Sand in Zengcheng District

      In order to ensure the safety of flood control and water supply and protect the water ecological environment, according to the Water Law of the People's Republic of China, Regulations on the Management of River Sand Mining in Guangdong Province, Regulations on the Management of River Sand in Guangdong Province ,Regulations of Guangdong Province on River Administration and other documents, and taking into account the river sand storage, riverbed evolution, water regime, water environment and engineering safety of the river channel in the district, the forbidden mining area of river sand in the river channel in our district in 2022 is hereby announced as follows:

      First, the following rivers (river sections) are designated as the forbidden mining areas for river sand mining in 2021:

1. Zengjiang River: The main stream from Modaokeng in Zhengguo Town to Guanhaikou in Shitan Town.

2. Xifu River, Paitan River, Erlong River, Jinkeng River, Kengbeishui River,Yayao River,Yonghe River,Gaopu River,Yinchangshui River,Xianjiang River,Dapingding River,Nangang River,Dabinhai Riverand other rivers (rivers) within the jurisdiction of our district.

      Second, for the above rivers (rivers), stop accepting the application for sand mining in rivers and issue the Permit for Sand Mining in Rivers, and prohibit all  sand mining activities in rivers (except for river regulation and waterway dredging projects approved by the water administrative department and approved by other relevant departments). Those who violate the provisions of this announcement will be severely punished according to law.

      III. This announcement shall come into force as of the date of promulgation and shall be valid until December 31, 2022.
